Our Impact

Sustainable Foods and Feeds

The search for sustainable protein is an area of critical importance.

The world’s population is projected to grow to over 9 billion people by 2050. In order to feed this many people, food production needs to increase by over 70%. However, food systems are fast approaching their environmental production capacities. Due to limited availability, there is likely to be a substantial shortfall in livestock and crop production, leading to higher prices. This calls into question the sustainability of long-term supply and makes the search for alternative and sustainable protein an area of critical importance.

Our Impact

Inseco’s innovative recycling model has a direct impact on several of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

Life Below Water

Our insect meal and oil are a sustainable alternative to fishmeal and fishoil that provide the aquaculture industry with a way to become marine-independent, thereby promoting the biodiversity and health of our oceans.

Life on Land

As populations grow, we need to produce more food. However, increasing food production often comes at the expense of biodiversity loss as we clear more natural habitats for increased crop production. Insect protein can help solve this, ensuring we preserve our natural environment.

Zero Hunger

Insect protein is highly nutritious, price stable, and can be produced locally, helping food-insecure areas increase local production.

Sustainable cities

Insect farming provides cities and communities with a means of recycling their organic waste, producing high quality protein and organic fertiliser. Supporting the circular economy.
